1. Set your starting point

Use the rank before these matches, not your current rank. Enter stats from that same period. For Mythic and above, select the combined Mythic option and enter total Mythic stars; the title follows the star count.

2. Choose your record

Win rate means 1st–4th, not just 1st place. Champion rate checks consistency; it does not add bonus stars.

3 Make it yours optional

Include the rank displayed in your game on your result and downloaded card. It does not change the calculation.

THE MATH, WITHOUT THE GUESSWORK

How this calculator works

What is the recommended calculation?

First estimate whole-match counts and the sum of all finishing positions:

  1. Top-4 finishes W = round(matches × win rate ÷ 100).
  2. Placement sum S = round(matches × average placement).
  3. Net stars = 4 × matches + W − S.
  4. Final normalized score = max(0, starting score + net stars).

Round only those two intermediate totals, not the per-match star efficiency. Starting score comes from your starting division and stars. The final score maps back to the model ladder.

Are losses already deducted?

Yes. The result is net stars, after losses. For Top-4 placements, star change = 4 − placement + 1. For Bottom-4 placements, star change = 4 − placement: 5th loses 1, 6th loses 2, 7th loses 3 and 8th loses 4 stars. Adding every match produces 4N + W − S. The +W is part of the matrix identity, not a bonus-star mechanic.

Do not subtract losses again, and do not treat every defeat as −1. The placement sum already includes the positions of every defeat.

How does the 144-match example work?

144 matches, 80.56% Top-4 wins, 2.54 average placement and 48.61% champions:

  • W = round(144 × 0.8056) = 116 Top-4 finishes.
  • S = round(144 × 2.54) = 366.
  • Net stars = 576 + 116 − 366 = +326.
  • Champion count = round(144 × 0.4861) = 70. This leaves 46 finishes in 2nd–4th and 28 in 5th–8th.

The 70 champions contribute +280 stars. The other 74 matches have a placement sum of 366 − 70 = 296 and contribute 4 × 74 + 46 − 296 = +46 stars. Combined: +280 +46 = +326 net stars. The losses are included in that remaining +46.

Without a starting rank, +326 describes movement only. The sample button uses Epic IX, 1 star (score 161), so its final model score is 487: Mythical Honor 137 stars.

Do I need champion rate or win rate?

Win rate is required; champion rate supports validation. Average placement alone does not determine the total under this matrix. For example, 100 fourth-place finishes average 4.00 and earn +100 stars. Fifty first-place and fifty seventh-place finishes also average 4.00, but earn only +50 stars.

Champion rate identifies first-place finishes and strengthens consistency checks. Those finishes are already included in the average and Top-4 rate, so champions are not added a second time. It does not change the rounded-total formula. In some rounded records, it rules out otherwise possible distributions or reveals inconsistent inputs.

Why do average placement and win rate both matter?

For a placement p, the star change is 4 − p + 1 if p is in the Top 4, and 4 − p otherwise. Adding every match gives:

Net stars = 4 × matches + Top-4 finishes − total placement sum.

With unrounded stats, this is exactly matches × (4 + win rate ÷ 100 − average placement). For 100 matches, 60% wins and a 3.80 average: 400 + 60 − 380 = +80 stars. Average placement alone is insufficient. Champion rate is a consistency check, not an extra reward.

Which method is more accurate?

Placement counts give exact star movement under this matrix. Summary stats estimate Top-4 and champion counts by rounding matches × rate ÷ 100 to the nearest whole match. Average placement is treated as rounded to two decimals; we round matches × average placement to the nearest whole placement sum and check that it is compatible with the win and champion counts. We do not invent a placement distribution.

Different underlying records may fit rounded summary stats and produce slightly different totals. The displayed rank is one estimate, not a guaranteed reconstruction. Use placement counts when precision matters.

How are inconsistent stats detected?

Champion rate cannot exceed Top-4 rate. For N matches, W wins and C champions, the lowest possible placement sum is C + 2(W − C) + 5(N − W); the highest is C + 4(W − C) + 8(N − W). Without a champion rate, these bounds become W + 5(N − W) and 4W + 8(N − W). Your rounded average must allow a whole placement sum inside these bounds.

Rates are rounded to whole counts, so arbitrary hypothetical percentages are accepted when the resulting counts and average are feasible. A small positive rate can round to zero wins.

How do ranks, boundaries and losses work?

The model uses Warrior II–I, Elite III–I, Master IV–I, Grandmaster VII–I, Epic IX–I and Legend X–I, with 10 normalized stars per division (0–9). Score 350 starts Mythic at 0 stars. Mythic: 0–99; Mythical Honor: 100–199; Mythical Glory: 200–499; Mythical Immortal: 500+. These titles use total Mythic stars, not stars since the last title change.

Crossing a boundary changes division immediately: Warrior II 9 stars +1 becomes Warrior I 0 stars. If there is at least one win, the final game is assumed to be a win; zero wins means a loss. This assumption does not change the sum or immediate boundary display, and it cannot reveal the exact final placement.

All losses count, including Warrior and Elite. Only the final displayed score is floored at zero. Negative net movement remains visible. We do not apply a floor after each match, so match order has no effect. With zero matches, your starting rank remains unchanged.

Is this an official rank or season-reset calculator?

No. It applies the supplied static matrix uniformly, excluding all protection, raising points, bonus stars, low-rank safety overrides and dynamic Mythic adjustments. The 10-star division cap remains a model assumption. Mythic title thresholds are configured as 0, 100, 200 and 500 total Mythic stars, as specified for this calculator. Season-reset mappings remain unverified and are not inferred. Enter your observed starting rank manually.

How do sharing and first-place totals work?

Share result opens your device’s share menu where supported, including the card when image sharing is available. Copy result & link copies the result and a link that restores the calculation inputs. Player names are omitted from links. If selected, your displayed-rank comparison is included. Local preview addresses are not included because others cannot open them.

First-place finishes come from the champion rate in summary mode or your exact first-place count in placement-count mode. If champion rate is omitted, the result and card say “Not supplied”; it is never assumed to be zero.

What assumptions does this calculator use?

This is a project-defined model: first through eighth place change stars by +4, +3, +2, +1, −1, −2, −3, and −4. It uses 10 normalized stars per division and Mythic title thresholds of 0, 100, 200, and 500 total Mythic stars.

These assumptions are not independently verified current game rules. Bonus points, protection, low-rank safety rules, dynamic Mythic adjustments, and season resets are excluded. If you find a mismatch in the explanation or calculation, send feedback.
