Good questions.
Straight answers.
Is this my actual skill rating?
No. It is your estimated position on our simplified wins-minus-losses ladder. It does not evaluate opponents, roles, teammates or individual performance.
Can I start halfway through a season?
Yes. Select the rank and stars when you began. Use only the ranked matches and win rate since then. For example, Epic V, 3 stars can be a mid-season starting point.
What happens at 47% or 50% win rate?
With 100 matches at 47%, you have an estimated 47 wins and 53 losses: −6 net stars. At 50%, wins and losses balance and your starting position stays the same.
How do stars carry over to the next rank?
At a shared division boundary, a record with at least one estimated win displays the lower division at full stars. For example, Epic II, 1 star plus 4 net stars gives Epic II, 5 stars; plus 5 gives Epic I, 1 star.
If every match was lost, the same boundary displays the higher division at zero stars. If net movement is zero, your exact starting selection is preserved. The minimum displayed rank is Warrior III, 0 stars.
Why can Warrior and Elite lose stars or drop divisions?
TrueRank removes protection from every tier, including Warrior and Elite. Every estimated loss subtracts one star, even when the game would normally protect your stars, division or tier.
This keeps the calculation consistent: your starting position plus wins minus losses. The result shows where that record would place you without those protections, rather than recreating the game’s actual progression.
The displayed rank cannot fall below Warrior III, 0 stars. Any negative net-star change is still shown.
Why does the calculator assume the last match was a win?
Match count and win rate do not tell us the order of your games. For consistent results, the calculator uses a final-win display whenever your estimated record contains at least one win. At a rank boundary, this shows the lower division at full stars rather than the next division at zero stars.
If every match was lost, the calculator uses the final-loss display instead. If your net star change is zero, it preserves your exact starting rank and stars.
This is a display assumption, not a claim about your actual last match. It does not change your estimated wins, losses or net stars.
Are shared results verified?
No. All stats are entered by the user and can be hypothetical. Share links reproduce the calculation, not proof of a game account.
Can I use the other games?
Yes. Honor of Kings and Magic Chess: Go Go are available in the game selector. HoK uses a wins-minus-losses model; MCGG uses a fixed placement matrix. Each calculator explains its own assumptions.
